How to install Windows 10 on your computer

Do you have Linux/DOS based computer and wanted to upgrade it to Windows 10 or want to get the latest version of Windows i.e. Windows 10, then keep reading this post.

Today, I will tell you how to install Windows 10 on your Computer or laptop using USB flash drive.

Step 1: First of all make sure to backup all your data from your pen drive to another storage device, because your pen drive will be formatted during the flashing process.

If you want you can download Windows 10 directly from here, and then burn the downloaded Windows 10 iso file in to your USB Drive with the help of Rufus software. After that jump directly to Step 8 for further installation info.

OR you can follow the below steps which may be somewhat time consuming compared to the above one.

Step 2: Now head over to this link and download the Windows Tool.

Step 3: Once its get downloaded run that MediaCreationTool.exe file on your computer. After accepting the terms and conditions you will see two options, from that select second option i.e., Create installation media for another PC and click Next like this

Step 4: Now select the Language, edition(you can select the appropriate edition that you want) and architecture that you want for your PC or it will may be already selected.

Step 5: In this step Click on USB Flash Drive option and proceed further by again clicking on Next.

Now insert your pen drive(recommended 8GB) that you want to flash if you have not already inserted.

Step 6: Now it will show you the connected pen drive, if not just try removing the pen drive again and insert it again and then click the refresh button.

Step 7: Now your downloading should begin

Note: Please do not remove the pen drive after the downloading process has been started.

Step 8: After your download has been completed your USB Drive is ready for flashing and then click on finish.

Now you have to change the boot sequence of your computer in the BIOS so that your computer can able to boot from USB Drive. To know how to change the boot sequence of your computer click here

Once you save those boot settings, your computer will restart and boot from the USB Drive. From now follow the On screen instructions to continue further.

Step 9: After you click on Install button, it will ask you for a Key you can either enter it if you have one or just skip it.

You may not see the Windows activation screen if Windows automatically detects a key associated with your hardware or if you have valid Windows 7, 8, 8.1 key enter it there. After that, if prompted accept the license terms.

Step 10: Now it will ask you what type of installation do you want? In that click Custom to perform a clean installation of Windows 10.

Step 11: In this step, select the hard drive on which you want to install Windows 10 and delete it. So, make sure to backup important stuff. Now if you have multiple partitions like this

You may have to delete them as well.

When you are installing on a brand new drive it will look like this

Now select that Unallocated space drive and click on next

Now Windows will install itself and it may restart few times during the installation process. It may take a few minutes to get Windows installed.

After installation just follow the On-Screen instruction and then you are good to go.

Congrats! Your Brand new Windows 10 has been successfully installed on your computer.
